Hi Mark!
Great job as always here on MCO! I think it would be appropriate for Florida to have it's own Regional Forum. We've grown to be one of the largest contingents here on MCO, and we comprise a majority of the Southeast Forum. We're also the most active group in any regional forum on MCO. Here's what I propose:

1) Give Florida it's own forum (heck, Hawaii has their own forum, and they are not nearly as active as us Floridians are!)
2) Combine the remainder of the Southeast forum with the South forum. (Florida would still have more posts then the two of them combined).

We are in the process of forming an official Florida club (the Sunshine State MINI Club) and it would be extremely beneficial to have our own forum on MCO!

So, what do you think???

Thanks again for all your hard work!
Tony

Hi Holly!
Somehow I knew you'd be the first one to respond! The offer stands, I'm ready to pitch in!

I'm open to this but would prefer not to create a forum for every club and/or state here on MCO. What I would really like to do is offer each club its own forum as part of the club functionality that we are starting to offer (see http://www.PDXMINI.org, http://www.mini5280.org). That way we can provide a directory of clubs on the site, have users go to the club's site and access the forum there. Thoughts?

Also, since Florida is such a large state will there be multiple clubs in the state?

Thanks for responding so quickly Mark! I think that being that our group is still in its fledgling state, we're still a ways off from having our own website... Not to mention that the convenience of a forum amidst everything else here on MCO would be beneficial to us attracting new members.

At this stage, the club is planned to be statewide until we warrant breaking out into local chapters. Florida is very Motoring-friendly, so it's real easy for any of us to participate in meets anywhere in the state.

I don't think you're expected to make a Forum for each state. However, us Floridians have tallied more posts than most of the other regions. Not to mention, many people have to search through two forums to find us.... (South & Southeast) Florida is one of the hottest markets for MINI sales, and our numbers are going to keep growing!

Let me know what you think!

I really haven't done all that much so far. Abe (Electrc109) and David (minimotorin) have really been the backbone of the effort so far. I think we have a great group so far...and the potential for an amazing organization is definitely there!
