Unmoderated forums?

I saw a thread appear in the "Performance Mods: Cooper" forum about pullies, so I thought I would PM a moderator and have them move it. Then I noticed that there was no mod listed for that forum. Then I noticed that at least a few other forums (2007 MINIs, 1st Gear) don't have mods, either. Are volunteers needed for those, or has it been decided that it's unnecessary? I'd be happy to help with Cooper mods.

Chris,

Any Core Moderator or Admin can move threads in any of the forums or moderate posts in any of the forums whether or not they are listed as a moderator for that forum.

That said, each forum should have a listed moderator, so for now I went ahead an added myself as moderator in each of those so there is at least a listed contact.

Mark and I have been discussing the moderator situation for the Cooper forum. The important thing to us at least initially was to get the forum up and the threads going over there. We're currently evaluating what the need is for additional moderators for that forum, or whether the current moderation is sufficent. Possibly in the next week we'll make a call on that.

Dave

Cool, thanks Dave. There's not been a lot of activity in Cooper Mods or 2007 MINIs, so the status quo is probably fine for those. 1st Gear gets quite a bit of posts.

Cooper Mods - our reason for creating the forum was to help organize and promote COOPER modifications, so with time my hope is activity in there grows.

2007 MINIs - this forum is really the start of the next generation discussion on NAM. In time there will most likely be a forums for the next gen Performance Mods, interior/exterior, and possibly beneath the bonnet once the cars are actually out. For now, we have this concept, and sometime around the beginning of the year maybe? we'll hopefully have the rollout of the next generaion MINI on the autoshow circuit.

1st Gear - Agreed. It is very active. That forum has exceeded my own initial expectations in terms of activity. It's nice to see, but even with that, it seems to stay fairly well organized (similar titling on all of the Week XX production support threads for instance).

We're always open to suggestions and Mark and i perform relatively regular evaluations of the need for moderators. If people have input, feel free to PM either of us.

Dave

EDIT: I almost forgot, was this the pulley thread you reference above or was there another one?
