Is it just me or?

Is it just me or does there seem to be an over abundance of posts about technical problems in this section?

Don’t we have a stock problems/issues section? Do we have to clutter up this section with technical problems?

Never mind me, it’s 3:42am and I can’t sleep...

I’m going to bed.

I agree Mark, tons of technical issues and questions and the one that irks me the most is this one "what should be my next mod?" and thats it not even giving us a budget, what the persons looking for, what else is done to the car, etc...

But then again I dont really see the admins on here correcting people when the do stuff like this.

Yes Mark there are a lot of Tech Questions in here that should be in another section. That is why we have those other sections such as Stock Problems/Issues, Audio & Navigation, How to, and others.

I agree - when the main Hatch Talk forum is filled with mechanical trouble questions, it makes a person think that MINIs must be nothing but problems. First time I visited this site that was my initial impression. It took a lot of reading and research before I bought my MINI and it wasnt until I realized that this seems to be the most read part of the 2nd Gen forum, so most people post here to get the greatest response. The only people that almost always use the proper section are those with detailing questions!

Since this is a useless thread anyways, thought I’d mention something I WON’T do again.

Today marks the one year anniversary of my younger sister passing. I drove to FL. to spend the weekend with my mother and visit my sister’s grave.

Anyway, the part I won’t do again, is drive my Jeep. I thought the sun is out, the weather is warm, I’d take the doors and top off and drive down here.

In the mini, I can make it in 7 hours if I want to haul azz., it took me 12 hours with Jeep... (I couldn’t maintain much speed over 75-80)

I stopped and picked up a set of earplugs but by the time I got here, my head was ringing, I was sunburned and I’m absolutely worn out...lol.

And then to add injury to insult, I had to stop for gas 4 times so it was much more expensive than driving Oscar.

Oh well, wanted to try it, won’t do it again...lol.

It's one of the things that as a moderator is really at the bottom of the priority list of things to do on a daily basis.

Rather than make an off-topic post about it, a better idea would be to report out-of-place posts so we can address them and get them moved. It is impossible for us to see every thread started every day!

That said, I am cleaning up this section as we speak.

I understand, I’m a mod on another forum and you’re right, it is at the bottom of the list. Perhaps that’s why it annoys me. But hey, give me mod powers to only move threads... I’ll do it.
