Where is the Attack Statement and who was attacked ?

1)I've been looking all around and I'm finding a lot of arguments on the severity of this attack but what I'm looking for is the statement from NAM . Somebody must be in charge?
2) The closed thread had a few posts from people that said they were infected.
Would those people please post what exactly happened and how they fixed it?
3) Most malware isn't even detected. How does anybody here know they haven't been compromised?

The first post in this thread provides the explanation provided that prevented Firefox and Google Chrome from accessing the site. To the moderator staff's knowledge, no one was infected by anything.

NAM has not provided a statement because, to the best of the abilities of all involved, NAM was not determined to be at fault here. Things are back to normal, so far as we know, and Google has rectified the site listing information. That's the story. The statements about attacks, infections, and whatnot have been--again, to the best of our knowledge--unfounded and inaccurate.

Specifically, see post #121 by Motor On to dispel any continuing worries. Those are the 'official statements' that will be provided--post #90 by IBMark (an employee of Internet Brands, which owns NAM) and #121 who is the Moderator team leader--and nothing more is in the works so far as I know.

I have found that Malwarebytes's free scan utility is pretty good at finding and removing even the most vicious infections.
