Isn't it Unfair to Have TireRack Host a Forum?
>>You still miss the point

>>It can, does, and will hinder any other vendor from approaching NAM as a sponsor.
>>The Principles have been flushed as has the validity of this site as a fair and evenly moderated forum.
Gee, that's too bad. You could always just stay away from here, and go trolling somewhere else. You must have watched "Dogma" and figured a way back into this site. Ah well...

I for one am grateful to Alex and The Tire Rack for the great job they do on this forum. They offer a lot of tire and wheel information totally free of charge to every member of this forum and they don’t make a dime until someone buys from them.
Wheelman-from your posts I get the impression that you think life should be fair (it isn’t) and you don’t have a grasp of how capitalism works.
Keep up the good work Alex and Tire Rack and long live capitalism!

Having dealt w/ a lot of salesmen in the past, and having worked as a salesman myself, it says a lot to me when a salesman recommends that I not spend money today and then explains to me why it's better that I wait.

Here's my 2 cents....
Alex of Tire Rack is one of the most dedicated vendors we have here on NAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's professional, knowledgeable and has a customer centric philosphy that is evident in all his posts, tel calls, e-mails...etc...etc. Simply put ..he cares and.... it shows
Tire Rack pays money to be here, provides a service and no doubt makes a profit for their investment of time and money.
That's the way it works.
Peace,
D

Moving to site feedback
The Tire Rack is a advertiser on NAM and pays for the right to sponsor the Wheel and Tire forum.
As for me, I'm strongly considering sponsoring Under Review

Wow, Dave, I didn't know you could get to "Under Review." Thanks for the link! Now I have my afternoon's entertainment all lined up. You defeintely get my vote for best sponsor on NAM for "Under Review sponsored by DiD."

Holly bejesus, I agree with Ants entirely.
BTW buy wheels and tires from MANY people around the country and guess what.......You just bought them from The Tire Rack.
Besides he PAYS for that spot, and also earns it in the before mentioned support with information and feedback.
Let me take the time to say he was a GREAT help in my decision for my wheels. (Bought from Tire rack via Pat Wallis BTW) And I love them!

>>it's right there on the forums list right under the test forum
Ah, I see. I always use the pull-down menu, which it's not on. Now I know. Oh, the joy...
I missed that one while on a hiking trip in October.

This whole discussion is silly. Alex does a good and fair job and we should all thank him for his time and effort. Tirerack is properly listed as a paid advertiser. I see no harm. I also think that Tirerack is a great vendor who I have purchased from for several years. Without sponsors, we would have to pay to keep this site alive, does anyone prefer that!
There are a couple other sponsors on here that sell wheels, brakes, brake pads, and tires for the MINI. I assume Mark has established a sort of teir system of sponsoring. If the other venders are on that same teir, I agree with the topic. Otherwise, its the choice of those other venders not to pursue this market at Rack's level. I agree Alex brings a lot of insite, its his job to know. Other vendors may pursue more activity in other aftermarket products and have less of a concentration of specialty knowledge in this particular section.

Yes there are, and I personally have looked into rims from some of our other sponsors. In fact Tire Rack doesn't have what I want at this time listed on their site. However, I do support the Tire Racks sponsorship of the Wheel and Tire forum. When I'm ready to buy wheels its gonna be an open market and the shop that gets the sale is the one that has the wheels I want at the price I want to pay. I think this thread is shallow and was started by an INSTIGATOR to do nothing but stir up trouble. Nuff said.

If anyone has any real issure with the sponsorship of forums, please e-mail Mark with your comments.
