Cougarlife.com?

Wow. We're competing for banner space with cougarlife.com . How things change.

I don't see anyone competing with ads for anything

The ads can seem pretty random, but they are based on some things (such as your browsing history, where people get linked to NAM from, where people post links to NAM, among other things). When people start to get some REALLY weird stuff, IB has them clear their cache/history/cookies and that usually solves the problem.

Right now I have an ad for eBay Motors and that's it.

Maybe NAM fits the demographic profile for cougarlife. It's how advertising works.

I've checked easily 100 threads this morning already and so far the only ads I've seen are attached below, TireRack and eBay motors with one part that has the word mini in the title and then a head for a MINI and an exhaust for a MINI.

As I haven't seen any banners at all today, I suspect that someone on IB is likely making some sort of adjustment on them; and I will contact them to see if they have any input for this thread, in the meantime clearing your browser might do the trick in giving you a "blank slate" when the site pulls up an ad.

Have you seen it more than once or was it just a one time thing?

Hmm, make lemonade? Maybe you can come up with some mod plans for that untapped market.

If you ever come across advertising that is inappropriate, if you could post a screenshot, and we are able to block it.
We provide specific guidelines to the advertising partners that place ads on here, but at times it is possible that they exceed them, if we have a screen capture it makes us able to block them, and potentially revoke our agreement with the advertising agency accordingly.

Thanks for reporting the issue.

What? You haven't heard of the Cougar MINIskirt?
Maybe the webcrawler thought they were talking about the 60's/70's Mercury? MINIs driving old Cougars?

While cookies may have an impact on ads (via unscrupulous tracker cookies), browser history had darned well better not. Your browser history is not available to a web server unless you have some spyware sending it out.

Yeah browser history isn't what I meant...browsING history (cookies) is what I intended to say.
