How Slowwwwww can you go?

Slow enough that it took three days of attempts to post this complaint!

Come on IB, pry open the wallet and open up the bandwidth enough that people can actually use the site!

It's just pitiful..............

I'm pretty much done with this place, I hate to abandon my friends, but this is just too frustrating to continue........

I agree. As you can see by my number of posts vs. when I joined, I don't post very much... BUT, I have really enjoyed the tech help, stories, pictures, and MINI fellowship, and have tried to help whenever I thought I could add something constructive. I have also supported many of the vendors with my wallet. Since IB or whatever took over, something seems to have gone down hill and it looks like many long time members have been "jumping ship" ever since.

Can I ask what browser y'all are using? I'm unable to duplicate this problem using Safari or Firefox, and that's across OSX and Windows XP and 3 different networks varying from DSL to work LAN...

A ticket has been opened with IB, just so you don't think you're being ignored...but no one on this end has been able to reproduce the problem.

Macintosh dual processor G-5 OS X version 10.4.11, running Firefox and/or Safari, also a Windows notebook at a different location and server..... same results. This is the only site that is slow on both machines.

I am experiencing the slowness today at work on a PC with IE. IB has been notified anyway, but today I am seeing the problem.

At work on a PC with IE on a wide open T1 connection.

Right now at home on a laptop on RR cable connection and IE.

However, other sites that I frequent open and close pages normally, while this site just drags................I waited for several minutes to resond to this thread and the page never did open (earlier today) and tonight it was a bit quicker but still very slow.

Did the NAM servers take Veteran's Day off? About 1/3 of my pages load within a couple of seconds but the remaining 2/3 take anywhere from 15 seconds to as long as a minute.

Not experiencing this with other sites, so I don't think it's my ISP.

I've been on this site all day on and off, and I haven't seen any slowness. Running firefox over cable modem, been nice and snappy. Keep in mind there are lots of things that can affect this including geographical location.

True but my office is 20 miles from my home. My office runs a T1 thru the phone system and my home is on a cable modem, so two completely different systems, but similar results........

Once in a while it seems pretty normal, but most of the time it seems to take forever to open a page and I worry that my postings never get made, since it just seems to never load.....

At the same time other forums or regular sites I frequent open and load just fine. Hard to believe it's on my end when everything else works so well..........

And I've seen this with this site since IB took it over, before that it was pretty snappy......not blaming them per se, just fixing a time point for the problem.

I am right now having some speed issues with the site from the same location it was snappy all day. I see what you mean about the pages never loading now. The way it's working it looks like a database issue to me. It seems to hang mostly on posting when you use the quick reply feature. If you hit the "post reply" and reply from there it seems to be working better so its hard to tell if it is in fact a DB or a code issue. Since I'm a network/server ... person I'd be willing to help if someone wants me to. Just offering.

Today I've connected through 3 networks, and 2 cellular networks with no issues. Last time I checked with IB (~2 weeks ago) there weren't any server issues.
