Alliance membership extension
Alliance membership extension
Just wondering what the reason, or reasons are for this?
Is it the downturn in the economy, making folks decide that the cost of an Alliance membership is not something they can spend money on.
Was the magazine, which was initially free to all NAM member, not considered worth the cost. I happened to like the magazine, particularly the how-to segments.
Does it have to do with the new corporate ownership, and the feeling of community being lost?
Thoughts.

I'd say you should not only add it to the list, but put it way up there on top of the list.
Notice below my name... the "Alliance" is gone.

I'm confused by this thread(**Never mind seems I was out of the loop. I'm not confused anymore **) . Only the first two issues of the magazine were supposed to be free for all members, as incentives to get them to join.

My intent when joining the Alliance program was to get access to the magazine (which was very nice), helping out NAM (Mark) and the nicer logo. Now however the magazine is gone, Mark is gone as the owner and the logo not worth it. On top of all that NAM is not the same as it was a year ago - apathy or IB whose to say but it has changed.
The real question is will NAM be here this time next year? I'm guessing so since IB earns a lot of money from the vendors but in what form and with what content I care not to guess? This is why Facebook is our club's contingency plan.

Ok never mind about my post. Even though I wrote for the magazine, I didn't receive the PM that everyone else got....though with a bit of searching, I found it...
FB is a good plan---hey I don't think we are FB friends yet are we Chuck?? lol
Detailing101 members can always come on over to my discussion forum (ShowCarDetailing.com) for help and advice..since not many professional detailers own a MINI and a discussion forum, lol.

What's funny about the Alliance program was that so few people I referred the magazine to, even knew it existed. Someone would ask a question in Detailing101, and I'd refer them to issue 1 or 2, and they would be like "huh?" There is a magazine???
Beyond the magazine, I'm not sure the benefits were even clear to potential subscribers either.

so much for my extension..... I logged on yesterday to notice my avatar, garage, and "alliance" logo was gone.....oh yeah..the best part, I had to go through and delete over 300 private messages because I had been reduced back down to 100 total message limit, and could not receive PMs. Don't tell me I'm going to get a 6month extension and then two days later, take it away.
and it is sad the magazine is gone.
