I agree with Gabe. It gets old having your thread hijacked by other members, or having them answer a question directed to another member. Please continue your hard work to make MCO such a great place to spend time.

>>I found it hard to know if a question was real or just bait to start an arguement.
>>After working hard, at a very stressful job, I found it hard to constantly read debates, challenges, etc... I also hated to answer a post asking an opinion because after I did, I'd get a PM asking me why I felt that way, telling me why what they thought was really correct.... so obviously, he didn't want opinions or knowledge about a subject. Sometimes it was just too much to deal with after dealing with deadlines, complaints, and problems all day at work.
>>
>>Mark - I know it was hard for you to do this. But Thanks, it will give back our freedom to be ourselves. For many of us this is our escape from the constant hassel and drama of everyday lives. I really like MCO, it's has everything from spark plug wires and coils, wheels and tires to Off Topics about hurricanes, food, pets, and movie stars!

How can you blame people on a forum for your problems? And if MCO does infact have those things you listed why was my thread about ferarris and the lifestyle of some in LA deleted? hmmm.... mods still waiting for an answer

Im getting turned away from the site as we speak from reading this page, everyone is starting to turn on everyone just because their friends were banned (well, not just, but whatever), Mark tried to work with them, they didnt want to, so he gave them the boot, thats it! Maybe if they apologize they might be allowed back, but stop bashing each other over sig pics and what not, what Mark says goes.

Now dont bash me, the rest of Team MM has always been good, I've never seen anything bad in their posts, but you guys are starting to follow you friends because of this issue. Calm down.

You should probably delete this thread.

Thanks - it seems a member can't even post their opinions at all here !
I'm out of here!

If you think I live just so you can put me down when I've done nothing to you, you've got another thing coming. I don't know anything about you or your ferarris thread so leave me out of your hatefull posts!

SEE, this is causing problems Mark, please delete this thread, we are risking banning more members and loosing valuable knowledge from members that feel threatened.

CALM DOWN GUYS. Why do you want to bad mouth everyone.

I dont get how people over here can be so hostile, but people on MINI2 are not.

There has been a communication breakdown or mark isnt responding to dougs emails and PM's concerning this matter...anyways I will post on dougs behalf:

"I am not about to apologize for something I did not do. If the moderators would have done their JOB, contacted me once the "violations" were noticed, let me know what I did WRONG, then there would be no problem, allegedly."

*taken from double post*
My ferarris thread comment wasnt directed towards you, it was directed towards the mods who havent explained why they deleted my thread. Seems like some mods are quick to delete post and not explain why...

How do you expect to be left out of post in this thread if you posted a reply to it? You blammed some of my friends on things that are untrue so I replied to your post...isnt that how a forum works?

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Double posting?? ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Guideline violation. You all need to remember the days when this site was fun and there were no jerks on it causing all this trouble. A few bad apples in the bunch make the whole basket look spoiled. Thanks guys for screwing up the site. Great job. And thanks Mark for trying to get it back to normal. Hope its not to late.

Whoa! Sorry nobull if I offended you with my double post. I deleted it and added it to my previous post. I dont want to violate any rules and I know my fellow team mates didnt want to either, and I know they didnt violate any rules to cause them to be banned...

>>there were no jerks on it causing all this trouble
Are you calling me a jerk nobull? I dont think that kinda talk is allowed on MCO...is it mods?

Ok, now I agree with whoever above said that your post count should just max out at 100 and just show when you registered and not even show what gear you're in. That way everyone knows how 'old' you are on the site. Im tired of all this crap and wish I was a mod/Mark so I could delete all of this and change the post count system to max at 100. I never thought I would think about leaving, but now it's growing in my head.

rfibanz
You're not helping your cause any with all your, well, we'll just call it posting in this thread.

Nobull, your record isnt exactly "clean", in fact Ive seen you instigate many a fight and by calling someone a jerk you are making a personal attack and violating site guidelines. Also now we are all gunna attack Ray? Whats next? Ray has never done anything out of guidelines on this board, unless you count now where he is sticking up for his friend. Funny how the moderators are selective in who they moderate.

See--this is what I was talking about. I don't find this thread to be out of control in any way. People are just exchanging opinions. Sometimes that gets a little heated but we ALL need to remember not to be so thin-skinned. IMHO, it's all the thin-skinned-ness that initiates the problems. I don't think this site could ever possibly be a utopia--I don't think utopias exist, and even if they do I don't want any part of them. I would hate to see exchanges of perfectly valid opinions (and yes, folks, everyone's opinions are valid) fall by the wayside, or be banned outright, just because some people are easily upset. The exchange of opinions is the foundation of this board. People ask for advice and others give the advice they think best. Sometimes people don't agree--but it's OK! Really! We'll all survive. I promise. And I'd never lie to y'all...

****Let's re-visit what Mark Ferguson said today****

Excerpt:

"Over the last several months I (and many members) have noticed that there have been a couple of users who have chosen to dominate almost every discussion on the MCO forums as well as wildly increasing their post counts. During this time these users have not only created their own threads but cleverly split their initial post into multiple posts. Often many follow up posts have been made by them before any other member has responded to the initial post. Furthermore these users have at times been very confrontational with other members on the site and then have turned around to ask sympathy to support their point of view.

"In this case I, unfortunately, have been forced to remove MightyMiniz and Red03MiniS’ posting access to the site. Over the last several months both users have at times been confrontational with members of the site, radically increased their post counts (often posting more than 120 times in a single day) through split-posting, use of post signatures for advertising, and sought to dominate threads throughout the site. This has generated a high level of intolerance for these users by other members of the site and has caused the site to lose its feeling of friendship and camaraderie. I have contacted each user multiple times in an attempt to ask for their cooperation only to have been given a “No problem” response or a counter to every issue that was mentioned…often directing it to other users on the site."

Please go to the sticky at the top of the Site Feedback forum to read his post in its entirety. It is NOT merely about post-counts. It IS about site-domination and thread hi-jacking. It IS about not responding in an adult, responsible manner to Mark's many requests as well as my own and other Moderators', via PM, to change their ways. Anyone that disrupts the site is warned, and when they cannot or will not reform their ways, is politely escorted off-site.

Let's remember to treat each other well. Let's have fun at MCO. Let's motor.

I dont think what happened today is gonna help MCO.If I go down for defending my team mates so be it...Its the mods that make the decisions here and we're all under their control

I agree with you OmToast, except that most of the opinions running around here are very heated if you will, and Im not one to usually get upset easily, but this has to do with MINIs so, Im getting tired of all this poo.

I agree with MINIclo, wait a second, a mod, delete the thread!

Ray its not worth it. Just drop it. For some people this message board is their life, and when you give them a little control they think they have been elected the head of the FBI. Just let them revel in that fantasy world if they wish. OmToast's statement was dead on. There is no utopia, and when you start over moderating a site that is supposed to be fun, its no longer fun. So why bother....more important stuff to worry about. Motor on.

It would be nice if people remembered to treat each other well...but unfortunately I have seen far too many posts take a bad turn. Can't tell you how many times a Cooper VS. MCS thread devolved into a mudslinging contest...or CVT vs. Manual, I'm sure you all get the idea. And this post seems to be going along the same lines. I'm sure some are truly thrilled these guys got banned...but it's no need to gloat about it.

And as 2 guys screwing up a site? Pretty powerful duo there...plenty of others have thrown fuel on various fires around here and fanned many flames.

They arent over modding the site, stuff needs to be deleted, like this thread, there's alot of heat floating around in here and it needs to be cleared out. I was having fun before, when they were allegedly over modding, now it sucks.

Hey Girl - Chill
Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean you don't have a lot of important things to say. I have read a lot of your posts and you have a lot of good things to say. Just hang in there, all of this stupid stuff will go away after a while. Please hang around for a while, your opinion is important too, just my opinion.

Okay, I'll throw in my two cents' worth:

I don't think that this decision was taken lightly by Mark. Some of you are friends with the two who were banned, and that's fine. But many people on this board were bullied, taunted, bashed, baited, or otherwise negatively affected by many of the posts of those two. I believe that THAT is the real reason they were banned.

They were given multiple chances to improve their behavior, and they didn't. I'm sure they will both claim their innocence. All that says to me is that neither one really knows how to behave well in public, nor do they recognize bad behavior while it is occuring (or afterward). Maybe it's time that they learned, but not at MCO's expense.

If you don't have anything nice to say, then at least say it constructively without being derogatory, disparaging, belittling, or otherwise nasty. Some folks just don't know how to do that, and it spoils it for everyone.

'Nuff said.

Hey guys, I wasn't exactly shocked that Doug (mightyminiz) got banned once I found out. I support what Mark Ferguson had to do because things were kind of off in a way. It got to a point where I knew mightyminiz was going to have an empty post after reading a post by M7 (great guy). It doesn't stop there but there is no need for me to further go on about it. Things like that have simply irked me and I'm sure anybody else who comes on these forums daily felt an unordinary atmosphere intesifying.

Don’t delete this thread. Let members read it and see what this is all about. Let members express their opinions and other members read them. If at some time you want to lock this thread so be it, but let the thread stay for all to read. Nothing will be gained by deleting it. Just my opinion.

First- I can't believe I didn't post something on this thread!
Second- I think it is very very important and should not be deleted.
Read on-

>>****Let's re-visit what Mark Ferguson said today****
>>Excerpt:
>>"Over the last several months ...
>>"In this case I, unfortunately, ...

What is done is done. I respect Mark and our MCO moderators to do what they need to do for this site.
Let us put all that has been done behind us.
Let us now carry on forward in a direction that we wish to go.
Let us be thankful for the MCO community that we DO have.
Let us invite other MINI enthusiast to share in our delight for the MINI and in our concern when problems do arrise.
Let us be twice a happy when the good things happen and half as sad when the bad things happen.

Why should all of this be so hard? Well it isn't hard, or at least it is not hard unless WE decide we want it to be hard.
We don't need to make this difficult we need to make it easy.

So everybody take a deep breath. Count to 20 really slowly. Don't think too much. Re -read this post before you do anything else.
MINIclo writes:
>>Let's remember to treat each other well. Let's have fun at MCO. Let's motor.
This is the key-
Lets not forget it. I have met nearly NO one on MCO (except a few Hawaii people), but it is very important to me to treat all of you with respect. Why would I do anything else? I would not stand for that. And it has got to be FUN. Otherwise I am wasting your time and my time. Life is just too short.

Even with all of this going on. I bet if you look at some of the regional forums like Hawaii, you will see a thriving cooperative, energetic group of MINI owners ready to plan, review, create, and conspire to their heart's delight. This is the essence of MCO that we should be looking to develop more and I think that Mark already has this vision.

Now get out there and Motor! And stop thinking.
