Smilies in Signatures?

Smilies in Signatures?
In light of the new popcorn smiley, is there any way we could turn on smilies in signatures? Is there a site stability reason for having this disabled? (Perhaps 50k people with signatures all with animated smilies causes some issues? 
)

The reason I don't have it turned on is having lots of animation going in the signatures. The interface is largely business enough as it is so I don't think its something I really want to enable.
