Seems that the galleries are giving me a hard time, as in dead-links today. Is Mark busy modifying something behind-the-scenes, or is this an actual problem?

Just wanted to throw this out as a heads up.
Cheers,
Ryan

Hmm, I can't get the Galleries either so there's something going on.

Actually I have been away from the computer today. So let me see what's going on with the galleries. We may have to pull them off-line for a little bit.

Everyone,

After taking the galleries off-line for some investigation the problem appears to have been due to the continued growth of the galleries. As such I've made some system tuning changes that have resolved the problems for now. Please post a followup if you notice any strange behavior or if the problem returns. Thanks!

Mark, maybe we need to do a partial gallery purge? It just seem that most of the older pics don't probably get viewed much anymore.

I would like to hold off on doing anything with the current galleries until we're ready to execute the site migration. At that time I will likely lock the current galleries so that new additions are not being made using the old vesion of software. I'll then enable the "old" galleries to be viewed stand-alone so that members can take pictures and move them to their personal galleries, or submit them for inclusion into one of the main site galleries that we will open. Unfortunately, due to the organization of data in the current gallery there is not an upgrade path to the new gallery software that we will be using.

Thanks!

Mark
