Don't know where this post should go but i need some advice, without going into details yet, i negotiated a price on some parts in the marketplace and we (both) agreed on a price and i sent the money ($325.00) to a member by paypal that was nearly a week ago,i have sent several pm's and also e-mails, no answer for tracking numbers or else.I don't want to jump the gun,there maybe a legit reason for the delay and the parts may be on their way, but i'm getting worried.Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, just in case he put the parts in the mail and then went out of town, I wouldn't do anything just yet.

Has the seller been active on the board since you've tried to contact him? If he's posted messages in any of the threads since receiving your PMs, that might be a sign he's trying to dodge you.

I'd give it at least another week before doing anything, but you could initiate a dispute with PayPal. I don't know how much of your money you'll get back, though. The one time I've had to file a PayPal dispute, the reimbursement limit was $200, minus a $25 fee to PayPal for the dispute resolution.

 

If you can PM me with the username of the seller I'll also email them to ask for a status. Thanks

Thanks for the reply, is there a time limit on when you file a dispute? Like i said i don't want to jump the gun,because everything maybe ok and in transit,just would like to know one way or the other.

You have 45 days to begin dispute proceedings. If you log in to PayPal and click on the "resolution center" tab in your account, there are more details there.

Well, here it is Nov. 7th,no parts have arrived but paypal has been transferred.Last e-mail(11/3) stated money had transferred to his bank and would ship parts and send me tracking #,so far neither has happened.Just wanted to give an update.

Finally got an answer from the seller,said he gave the goods to someone else to ship for him and gave him only my address and not my name(which is of course on the paypal statement) so fed ex would not ship without a name.So i gave him my name and he said the friend would ship tomorrow.Just another update,thanks for you ear!
