I just spoke to Phill and the price for the autocross right now is 75 dollars. We are trying to get a sponsor to lower the price to 40 dollars per car.

We'll be at AMVIV, but not at the Wicks event. Even if you get the price down, that still half the normal event. For $40 per, you normally get four runs per, not two and a "hand-hold." Just not a good value anyway it's sliced.

Probably use that time to visit the inlaws in Pahrump instead for a day.

I know the AZ Region SCCA club holds special events on occasions. the problem with holding an all Mini event is the amount of participants. We need at least 120 drivers to cover the cost of the lot we use at a $40 entry fee. I doubt that AMVIV can bring that many drivers to the table.

If SCMC & LVRSCCA can work together it would be possible to have a "special" Mini run group at a normal special autox event but I suppose that would depend on the LVRSCCA event schedule. We still have plenty of time to get the insurance paper work in order as that usualy takes less than a month for approval and since the event could be held in Primm the ground work has already been laid down. Not sure if LVRSCCA would be willing as they have 2 events scheduled for the weekend before but who knows.

I'd love for this event to happen cause I'd love to take my justa-cooper and kick the crap out of some cooper S's and maybe a JCW or 2!!!

My inlaws are, shall we say, hi profile in LVRSCCA. Like past chairman, etc. This is what gave me the idea to have an autocross at AMVIV. LVSCCA has put on events for another group's exclusive use.

I think most would pay $50 per person, if they got the full four runs, and no restrictions to "experienced" autocrossers. Especially if enough of us who DO regularly autocross, are there doing our rah-rah best to get participation. Have the same SCCA classes so we can have separate run groups, and of course the pool of course workers.

There will be an SCCA autocross the same weekend as AMVIV, and all are invited! It's going to be held out at the Vegas Speedway at the north end of town. Loaner helmets are available. Bullring Parking lot, gate 2.

Way better value than Phil Wicks, and everyone can run.
