Up for sale is a R56 GP2/JCW turbocharger in excellent condition. I purchased it from a GP2 owner with 15,000kms on it and I used it for less than 5,000kms from my R56S. The turbo pulls strong, much stronger towards redline compared to the stock turbocharger but I decided to remove it and move things up a ladder with something from JTMC. To my knowledge, this turbocharger will work on all Cooper S models with the N14 engine, please make sure that the part fits your vehicle because I will not refund or exchange the item. Just to provide a little more confidence for any interested buyers. I've been with NAM since year 2006 (from R53S to current R56S), I have purchased and sold multiple items and interacted with many other NAM members before. Due to the limited choice of other countries that I can choose from in the drop down menu, my current location is Hong Kong instead of Canada. Isn't this the same turbo as the JCW?

Seems pricey for a used unit

 

This unit should be the same as the ones used on FJCW cars but because I originally purchased it off from a previous GP2 owner therefore I listed it as a GP2 turbocharger instead of JCW. I came up with this price by subtracting 50% off from what several different Mini part retailers is asking. Anyhow, make me any reasonable offers if you are interested. I'm not trying to make money from selling the unit, just want to sell it and move on to a different setup, thanks.

Price isn't bad for a low mileage JCW turbo honestly. Not everybody wants to throw on something more powerful and risk their motor.

This is coming from a guy with a JMTC GTD.

 

Thank you Allen, yes indeed it's a perfect upgrade for the ones who are looking for some extra power on the safe side. With this turbo unit, you can experience more power even up on the higher revs.

 

Will you need a tune with this? I'm running cold box I take, oem down pipe, front mount intercooler , exhaust.

 

I'm not 100% sure, I think it will work with or without a tune but you definitely won't get the most out of the turbo charger without a custom tune.

Will this bolt up to my 2007 MCS r56 oem down pipe?

 

To my knowledge, the answer is yes but you should ask for some experts advice.

 

You don't need a tune for it to run, but you do need a tune if you want to feel the extra power the turbo will provide

Yes it will bolt on, always a good idea to buy new gaskets, studs, nuts and oil feed return line.

I'm currently tuned by you as an N18 Stage 2+, with FBO and stock Cooper S Turbo.
Will the GP2 JCW Turbo require any retuning? How will boost hold at redline compared to the stock turbo?

 

It will bolt right up and drive normal, but you will need a rerun to get the full potential of doing the swap. You will make about 30whp more and you will hold boost much better to redline. It's a great upgrade
