Which version of Netscape are you using? Older versions of Netscape don't support some css features that the site uses but that would have shown up before the upgrade. We didn't really change the layout of the site but the code underneath. Given this I wouldn't have expected browsers to start having problems.

I downloaded and tested Netscape 7.1 and 7.2 both on Windows XP Pro and Mac OS X 10.3.9 and didn't run into any problems accessing or posting to the site (this was posted using Netscape 7.1 on OSX). Given that you have posted to this thread what browser did you use to post from? Was this browser on the same machine where Netscape was installed?

Sorry for all the questions but it helps me to narrow down where the problem may reside.

Thanks

Mark

Smilies don't work for me either, and all of my paragraphs are lost. I have put two returns in to illustrate. And here is the final paragraph. I also spaced this - Randy

I did some research on this issue and found something on the vBulletin site that recommends (using Firefox or Netscape) use CTRL + F5 (or Command-Shift-R on the Mac) to force the page reload all the files and overrides what has been cached. Apparently there are some Javascript files that have been updated and need to be reloaded. Let me know if this resolves the smilies problem. Mark

I have Netscape 7.1 and it won't take smilies plus it can't handle quotes. It puts them in code instead. H

Is Netscape 7.1 the most recent update? I use Firefox, and when I visited NAM yesterday the smilies didn't work, but I installed 1.0.7 and now it works great.

Make sure you take a look at this post above. Many browsers cache the javascript files that make the editor work. Given you likely have an old version cached you have to force it to reload. Let me know if this doesn't resolve you problem.

Edit:
Firefox, Mozilla, and Netscape must have the caches forced to reload. With a new version of a browser installed you don't have a cache in place so it will download the proper version of javascript files to make everything work

In testing it appears that there are several later versions of Netscape available...up to a version 8 that is only currently available on Windows.
