18" Black Rims

Just received delivery of a new, Pepper White MCS. I want to replace the stock 16" rims with 18" flat black rims, preferably ones that look like the 10 spoke JCW (too expensive!). Can't seem to find ANYTHING out there aftermarket. I'm open to other wheel designs, as long as they are solid flat black (no machined edge, etc.) and are 18x7.5. Anybody have ideas? Photos would be great too!

Great looking rims, but aren't they on the expensive side? Also, with only a 7" width (as opposed to 7.5"), how wide a tire can you go with? I was looking to mount 215/40

Just checked on Tire Rack...the 18" OZs are $335 each. That's about double the price of some other alternatives (albeit, they don't have this look). Does this price seem right? With tires, probably looking at about $2,000?

i have 18" konig hotswaps. love them, only they are gloss black. you wanted flat, i suggest the Konig Feathers. im not sure if they have them in 18" though, i think thats why i didnt go with these.

http://www.1010tires.com/images/whee...k_lg_super.jpg

konig has some other wheels though that are flat black, and not too pricey, and konig makes some nice wheels.. i hit a curb going over 50 and it didnt dent/crack what so ever. just a curb rash.

they were only 170 each shipped NEW i believe...for 18x7.5"

heres mine, and the spokes are changeable, im currently painting mine satin black to accent the gloss black rim

Thanks. The Konig Feather has the right "look", but don't come in the 18" size. Frustrating!!

Thanks. But if they're 8" wide, I'm told I'll have clearance problems

run the 17s, 17s still look good when lowered, look how much money you will save.

Yeah, may have to. Probably not going to lower though. Thinking that with the monochromatic look of a flat back wheel (and black tire), may not notice difference between 17 and 18. Would love to see comparative pics!

i prefer gloss black rims, but here are my stock 17" S-lites painted gloss black on 205/45/17 nittos, at stock height.

and my current 18x7.5s, on 215/35/18 nittos, still at stock height.

17" rear and 18" front lol..look how dirty the stock rim is

Thanks. Very helpful! Wheel gap actually looks a bit better with the 17s, though the 18s definitely look better overall.

Question: Did you paint the spokes black on those 18s (first photo had the spokes in chrome)?

im in the process. the pic of the 18s without the chrome on them, the spokes arent actually installed..doesnt look all that bad without them, but it looks better with them. i havent painted them all yet.

i say go with the Hotswaps (the 18s i have)

I think you'll find that there is a large amount of wheel gap with a set of 18's at stock wheel height. You'll have a bit less with a 215/40 side wall but not much. I lowerd my car two inches to loose the gap for my 18x7.5 wheels with 215/35/18's. You might start thinking 17's uless you plan on droping the car some. Lot's of pictures of our cars with 18's and no drop . 17's will certainly be a better choice for performance/look and comfort "IMOP". My second set of wheels are a set of Konig Feathers (although in a 16). I Love the look of mine and they make them in a 17 in the flat black (although not in a 17x7.5). You could run a 215/45/17 and they would look very nice with less wheel gap then 18's. The Feathers are inexpensive, the fit and finish (of mine) are perfect and the design of the spokes make the wheel appear one size larger. It takes a double take for some to realize my wheels are 16's not 17's.

Thanks. A bit confused by your gallery. There's a PW Cooper with Blk wheels and a PW Clubman with Silver wheels. The Blk ones look good. What size wheel and tire are those?

The wheel gap with the OEM 17" s-heavies always bothered me, but when I went to the 18" OZ's with 215/35 tires the gap was just more obvious. I added h-sport springs and the 1" drop is sufficient to fix it. Yes the OZ's are a bit pricey, but its a reputable wheel and relatively light for 18". Even though I went from 45 profile on the OEM runflats to 35 profile non-runflats the comfort level went up.

No Clubman in my gallery . There are pictures of my car with both sets of wheels I run. I have both a set of matte Black 18's and a set of matte silver 16's.
