Gear shaped warning signal?

Hi:

After turning my engine off there appeared a warning signal, looked like it was the shape of a gear, can't find anything about it in the manual.
anyone know about this?

Happy 4th!

I see two gear shaped warnings in a PDF manual.
1) Gear with thermometer in it - Transmission Overheating
2) Gear with exclamation point - Transmission in limp home mode.

If the warning was Red, it's worse than if it was yellow.
You may need to contact the dealer. Good luck.

Now, it's time to put in my time on the running trail.

Here are photos

Just went to start the car, and this is the pictures of the 2 signals that came on. The car was in park, but maybe I had a senior moment and it wasn't?

Anybody have any experience or info on this?

What is limp home mode?

Common issue on the automatic. If you had nav it would say you didn't put the car in park before you shut it off. I had this as have countless others and you need to have the dealer check it. On mine they had to replace a sensor or interlock or something like it. My was about a week old before this 1st happened.

Thanks!

Not Red or Yellow- Orange???

Anyway, turn on the car drove a few feet and turned it off, warning didn't come back on, this time- dealer is 45 min drive, think I need to bring it in? Anything dangerous?

If it is best to bring it in, I will, just don't want the hassel if not.

Thanks again!!!!

Found this on the 2007 PDF, don't see a clubman PDF or 2008:

Harold, your data from the pdf file is the same as mine. Your error looks yellow, not red.

I agree with Corey's assessment.

I had this happen on our new MCS Automatic Clubman with 2k miles on it. It is the gear selector sensor. Our light came on about 4 weeks ago. My dealer told me just to bring it in at my convenience and that their demo Clubman was doing the same thing. Don't be surprised if you see other dummy lights come on. After one week of driving with that light on, our brake, DSC, and tire pressure light was staying on too. Again, the dealer said that was what their demo and one other customer's automatic Clubman was doing. I drove it for another week and then every time my gas tank was only half empty, the gas light was going on and off when I would take any corners. The dealership finally got my part in last week and they fixed it. I drove it for 3 days with no issues. Now the light is back on but it has only gone on two or three times. It has not come back on in two days but I'm still going to get it back into the dealer. UHGGGGGG

From the picture, it looks like it's telling you the Sun is going to explode unless you put the car in P.

My Clubman is my third automatic but first automatic of the 2nd Generation...thus far I have never seen this icon - and hope I never do. Corey posted that it was common - well perhaps for the 2nd Gen? It surely shouldn't be.

Best wishes for a quick and timely fix. I have no patience with stuff like this going bad on a brand new car.

I'm usually too damn bad to laugh out loud!

HAROLD, check with your Dealer on Monday, no matter what.

Harold, as other smart peeps above mentioned, the problem may have been 'premature ejection.'
If driving an Automatic, you're more likely to hit the Start/Stop button early.
Live and learn.

Hi:

Yesterday my transmission gear indicator lamp warning, today my tire pressure monitoring system shows right front tire low.

I live quite some distance from the dealership. Would you mind plese telling me exactly what part(s) they had to change in yours so that I can have them order for me prior to my going up there and save a trip and a 1/2 day?

Thanks!!

Just wondering, did you check tire pressure? Then did you reset Light?

Just wondering.

They replaced the tire pressure monitor and the Automatic gear selector sensor because they were both bad sensors. My gear selector light has been off for a couple days but just came back on this morning. I drove the car a couple more times through out the day and it never came back on. I have no idea what the heck is wrong with it. I will be taking it back to the dealership soon though. I'm just glad that the car still runs fine and I can drive it.
