Gauging interest on SSR Comps 16x7.5 with GS-D3

Im kinda due for a refresh on my 5yr old car and was thinking about
possibly changing wheels to a mesh type again. No commitment at
this point, but wanted to see if anyone would be interested.

The package will be below. I will not ship, but willing to meet
locally somewhere. I am in Schaumburg, IL.

a. SSR Competition 16x7.5" silver painted with polished lips (11.5lbs)
b. GoodYear F1 GS-D3 205/50/16 about 50% tread left
c. One new (spare) GS-D3 tire never mounted.

The wheels are in excellent almost like-new condition. No scuffs,
no curbage. I put about 18k miles on them. Never driven in snow,
a few times in the rain.

$1112.72 picked up (firm).

wow, no interest? Ok, i will then have no choice but to buy my
mesh wheels and keep the Comps. lol

$1000 cash shall be the confirmed firm price for the package...
will not split. new, it was $1950 + another $135 or so
for the extra tire and freight...so if you're into high perf wheels,
you're getting a super deal. no, SSR's are not cheap.

^^ yah, just let me know. they are very comfy to drive on street so
it doesn't have to be for a auto-x app. they look better in person than
those picts. pictures always make the tires look meaty for some reason.
(or my camera just sucks...yah, kenchan, blame it on
the camera. )

regarding the PM's i got:

No I do not have the center caps for them. i honestly think these enthusiast
sport wheels should be run without center caps. that's the style.

also, the wheels were never repaired or repainted. Ive given it a good
coat of wax since the day of ownership so there are no brake dust stains
or any browning. they are in prestine shape.

finally, the wheels do come with centering rings and metal SSR valves
and caps.

thanks for all the PM's. i really appreciate it.

After thinking it over a little, i think i might just keep them for now and
get another set of wheels as a refresh next Spring if i decide to keep the
car longer. im coming up to my 5th yr of ownership next month and i
might decide to sell the car all together in the next year. if that's the
case, no meaning buying a new set of wheels and selling them for 1/2 the
price again.

so, will see where time takes me.

ive been in the market to upgrade my commuter anyway for some time.
(my "some time" is like 2yrs. lol)

I think the reluctance is people are worried about those Chinese made tires!

I think it was the standing firm on the seventy-two cents.

im going to swap out my front tires with new GS-D3's in the coming
weeks. If anyone wants the 50% tread left ones for free (2pcs),
come and pick them up when i will have the tires remounted. send me
a quick PM.

Im most-likely going to A&L Palatine to have this done...where the Euroteknik
guys are raving about.

I had the two replaced with new GS-D3's this morning at
SuburbanTires in Hoffman Est. I told them specifically not
to scratch my lip and they did exactly that.

no mounting marks wat so ever! very happy. took
them up to expressway speeds, very good balance (they use
Hunter 9500 RoadForce).

im going to let them break-in alittle and then rotate them with
the rears.

btw, Patrick MINI kingkong'ed my lugs during the last a/c repair.
holy sh*t, it was super over torqued. i had to almost bounce on
the breaker bar to get the lugs off.

The best man from my wedding has SSR Comps wrapped in GS-D3's on his 330i, and it's a great combination (lightweight, good looking rim with one of the best performance tires available).

If you're itching to change for a fresh/different look, you can always have the center section and spokes repainted to something a bit different (black, gunmetal, etc...). I've used the Duplicolor Wheel paint on 3 sets of rims over the past few years and have been very happy with how they turn out.

dan- yah, especially with the 7.5" width, the tires wrap the wheel
very nicely with a slight stretch.

also, i saw wake's DG painted Comps and they look fantastic on his
car. He has a thread on it in the wheels/tires forum.
if i was to do that though, i would have it professionally done like
wake.
