Spring Maintenance and Shine Party

Spring has finally sprung and it's time to get outside and work on those MINIs! Are you due for an oil change but would prefer to learn how to do it yourself instead of driving 100 miles to the nearest dealer? Is it time to rotate those tires after taking all of those twisties in Chattanooga at 60 MPH?
Have you ever wondered how you could give your MINI that fresh from the showroom shine without spending a fortune? (MINI prep fee)

We would like to invite everyone to our house on Saturday, April 21st at 1:00PM for a Maintenance and Shine Party.

Motor on over to find out the answers to the following questions:

1. Why wash your MINI with two buckets?
2. What is Zaino bling?
3. Why not just run the MINI through a car wash?

I'll be installing some ceramic brake pads on Zipper at 11:00AM if anyone would like to show up early to see how it's done. The maintenance and shine sessions will begin around 1:00 and last until..... Whenever! We have a half-round driveway that can accommodate a lot of MINIs, all of the necessary tools to perform the oil changes and tire rotations (including air tools. Muhahahhaha), numerous hoses with excellent water pressure and a spacious deck and screened in porch to relax on after we get the MINIs in tip top shape.

Samantha and I will provide drinks and snacks. I'll even fire up the grill later on in the day for a cookout.

We live 1.5 miles off of I75N in Ooltewah @ Exit 11. I'll PM the exact directions to those that RSVP. Please RSVP by 4/18 to this thread if you plan on attending and be sure to include the number of guests and MINIs.

We miss everyone and look forward to another fun meetup!

-Chris

Excellent! I forgot to mention that I'll be purchasing our oil filters from outmotoring.com and if anyone wants to join in on the purchase to reduce shipping costs just let me know. The oil filters are $6.95 each.

Nooooooooooooooooo!

Don't do it. Unless you expect a ton of miles, just wait and make sure the oil level is ok and come on the 21st and let me or Chris do the change.
The quality of work at the quicky places is so variable you can get major damage done by them.

I will be there for the meet, and don't really need anything done so I can do oil changes.

Chris,
Thanks so much for hosting again. I will be coming and can bring the harbor freight tool if you want.
I put the ceramic Hawk pads at the start of the year and they are a great improvement.

I could go for a couple of oil filters also.

Let me know what I can bring:
- Tools
- Refreshments

Thanks - Jeff

I agree with Jeff about those quicky places. I had my oil pan plug stripped by one of those places on my old truck. They also put in way too much oil one time.

Jeff: Could you bring a jack and a few additional jack stands?

Chis, I will take two filters if you haven't ordered them yet.
Do you want me to drop off the money to you?

Will do.
I can bring a jack, 4 stands and more tools than I need.
Do you want me to bring the Harbor Freight brake tool? I really makes doing the rears much easyer.

That would be great! (including the rear brake tool) Everyone can bring me the money for the filters the day of the meetup. Remember to bring 5 quarts of good synthetic oil! (I use Mobil 1)

This thread has been quiet for a while so I want to remind everyone to come and get whatever they need done taken care of.

I don't have any work to do on my car so I will be available to change oil, change manual trany fluid, brakes, rotate tires (don't they roll on their own LOL) and other tasks dealer charge big money for.

As Chris said, just bring the fluids, filters or what you want done.

If you have a question about what I can do, feel free to send me a PM before the meet.

Jeff

I think I can come over for a little while and say hello. My oil should be great since it was recently changed but hey, I'd like to see some of you folks.

No problemo! Many thanks to Jeff for assisting with my brake job. Zipper stops on a dime now with NO SQUEAKS!
Thank you all for stopping by yesterday. I hope that we can get a bigger group together after MOTD for dinner.

BTW, the deserts are awesome. Samantha and I ate brownies and nanna puddin' for dinner last night!
