I'm about to order this season's tires, and even though I've been very happy with the performance and feel of the Hoosiers, I'm thinking of going with the Kumho 710 for durability and price. However, I understand that tire measurements are dis-similar between the two brands. I want max performance (biggest contact patch?), but obviously interference with the fenders is undesirable.

Question: What are the quickest tire sizes for 16" wheels when running Kumho 710 (215/40R16 or 225/50R16) vs. when running Hoosier A6 (225/50R16 or 205/45R16)?

I have no MINI competitors in GS that I can reference within the SCCA/Detroit Region. What sizes are MINIs running at National Level?

At Nationals, H Stock was mosty Kumhos, G Stock was mostly Hoosiers. I have no idea why. The Kumhos wear significantly better than the Hoosiers, particularly if you have issues with understeer...
