D Stock 1st autocross with my MINI
1st autocross with my MINI
Last Sunday I had my first experience autocrossing my Mini with the Indy SCCA. First off the car is a ton of fun to drive. I came from a coil-over'd BMW and the Mini is just as much fun as that is to autocross. The cars handling and power work together very well in stock form. Overall I was very impressed with the car
. The only downfall was that I still have the stock fun flats on the car which seemed to severly limit its capabilities. Other than the fact that I am not entirely used to the Mini yet and the FWD vs. RWD difference.
I also worked the course when STX90 was running and his car was a joy to watch as well as being wicked fast.
All in all a good time was had, and I would encourage anyone who hasn't taken their Mini's out to get out there and give it a go. You won't regret it.

I was 4th in GS. Not a great finish, but I was happy overall considering it was my first time out in the Mini, getting used to the car, and those runflats. Definately a fun time.
I am hoping to make it next weekend, but I am not positive. Finals are coming up and I may have a busy weekend. If I can make it next weekend, or some other time I will introduce myself.
