Did a search and can't find an answer... are they allowed in stock class?

Stock class in Germany? Stock class of___________? I'd try asking the tech people of whatever group you intend to race with. Also, it would be easy enough to remove for the race if it was an issue.

 

...guess I should clarify. I live in Germany now and will drive teh 'Ring a lot while I'm here but don't have time to do much sanctioned racing.

Either I or the car (hopefully both!) will be back in the states in a couple of years and I'll pick up where I left off..competing in SCCA auto-x. In this case in GS w/ my new '06 MCS.

Bougt/optioned the car specifically for this purpose...just wondering on some of the finer points what's legal in GS (or any stock class) since I mostly drove a friend's '03 Mini Cooper in HS or in my (almost legal before engine swap # 3) CSP Miata.

No, an engine damper wouldn't be stock class because it's a totally new part. If you were going to mention it, I think they'd prolly put you into something like SM.. Although I'll confess to having autox'd in GS with the engine damper. These were local events and GS is not especially competitive. And hell, I only placed once in this time.

By this spring I'm hoping to have something that warrants being put in SM, like say a pulley.
