Anyone know which class the stock GP is in for SCCA Autocross?
Is it in B-stock like the from the factory JCW MCS or handled differently?

I would assume B Stock, it won't be any lower.
I sent a letter requesting classing in STX, but am not hopeful, there are just too many little differences that would be hard to replicate.

STX would be awesome, although, it would cost me a ton to upgrade I'd bet. Originally Posted by Motoring

Actually, now that I think about it, having it on the same line as all the Mini's in SP class would be better, that way, I could pick and choose which parts I wanted to use, such as rear seat delete and any other lightweight part that would be a big bonus. What other GP parts would help I wonder?
As far as the question on this post about which stock class? Since they are only importing 400, will it even be Stock class legal? I am pretty sure it would need to be 1000 or more. Heck, that might make it ineligible for STX as well. If there were more than 1000, it would be classed seperately from the JCW Mini as a completely different model.
I just submitted my letter, we shall see if it happens to land in DSP. :-)

Larger intercoller might be nice. AL Rear lower control arms would save a little weight too. Pretty much everything else is cosmetic.Originally Posted by OasisT

I'm not sure if the 1000-unit limit will be a factor. Not to rub any of the GP owners the wrong way, but the GP is basically just an option package for the 'S'. I think it even has the VIN code for an 'S' hardtop ('E' in the 5th digit). It's certainly a more-limited production option package than the JCW package, but I don't think that the GP should be considered a completely unique model and subject to the minimum importation limit.Originally Posted by OasisT

Good point, I wonder how they will view it.Originally Posted by riquiscott
