He had shiny yellow Koni's under there too. And I agree, great driver.
Mark let me drive his car at an event yesterday in Milwaukee. All I can say is that the M/3's are going to be taking over. Look for even faster 3's dominating HS.
I hope someone brings out a new 07' MINI with the VVT and aluminum motor. It'll be a tough battle next season for those of us in the older chassis.

but im guessing now those are his sponsers and not another mini..
edit: yes I definatly didnt read that right.
I'm guessing that Marshall registered in HS, and for some reason, shortly before the event switched to drive Seelig's car in STS2. This sort of thing is quite common at nationals... And when it happens, the sponsor/car information doesn't often get changed.
So my guess is that he was driving Seelig's CRX, despite the fact that is says "Mini".
I think the common perception is that the Cooper is too heavy to compete in STS. It makes roughly the same HP as the 89 - 91 Civic Si, but is a good 300-400 lbs heavier.
The weight difference between a fully prepped STS spec Civic and a fully prepped STS Mini Cooper wouldn't nearly be 300-400 lbs. My MC in HS trim comes in at 2360-2370 lbs, fully prepped for STS you should be able get the MC down to 2150-2200 lbs. Some of the significant weight savings could come from lighter seats, battery, wheels, coilovers, AC, and a bunch of other little stuff. Still not down to the nearly 2000 lbs of the Civic, but closer. Unfortunately the Mini is saddled with a lot of extra weight due to the extra "safety" crap that has been mandated (or made standard by BMW/Mini). I'd love to see a top level driver in a fully prepped MC in STS, but few people will take a chance on a car that costs $15-20k plus modifications when they can start out with a $3-5k Civic that requires much less money for modifications (cheaper and more plentiful parts).
Marshall ran his HS MINI in the Pro. I run against him in the WDCR. To the best of my knowledge his car is stock. Exhaust, struts, and cup holder - no JCW cup holder.
