Is shaving required on the new RT-615?

I know the GRM tire test shaved all the tires in their street touring tire test. I know the Hankooks really need to be shaved due to tread design. Is it overkill on the new Azenis?

 

Shaving helps, but not much. Based on my experience with 205/40R16's, it's probably worth about 0.25 secs on a 60 sec course.

 

Depends... that 0.25 seconds could make the difference between 1st and 4th!
