D Stock 06+ Civic Si classed in GS
I think an accurate comparison to the new Si is the '97 Integra Type R DC2. I'm told by many a ITR owner that the '06 Si is just about as quick at the Type R. I have a couple of buddies that run their ITR's in STX on Falken Azenis and we're just about dead even +/- a tenth of a second. That makes me feel really good when I'm still on my OEM run flats
I don't know if anyone that's a good driver at the national level would switch over to the Si currentley. I bet we won't see a even comparison until maybe next year. So far it doesn't look like there's that many Si's competeing, and if they are they don't have a national level driver behind the wheel. With that said though, I still think that even on sweeper intesive course, the MCS still seems to have the advantage and it's not the dogfight that I thought it would be. It's going to take a good DS car to be pushed down to GS to compete. Something's gotta give at the end of the year though. GS is such a sore subject for those who don't own a MCS.

The GTi suffers from obesity and springs that are way to soft.
How will the Si compare to the MINI? Well like everybody has said the course will probably be the determining factor, but not just because of sweepers vs. slaloms. I think it'll be a lot like what I see with the S2000. If you can keep the Si on VTEC it'll be fast, if not, the MCS should beat it. Time will tell.

A factory Sponsored 06 Civic Si took 5th place overall , out of 85 or so cars !!
I bet the Si would make a good road racer. I'm surprised I haven't been seeing more of them yet on the track here at Miller. Mini's are an awesome autocrosser, but I think the Si might have the advantange on gradual higher reving road courses. I just think the Mini's are so dominate in autocross because the car was meant to be tossed around and has more power on tap in the lower rev range.
Just had another auto cross this last weekend and the black '06 Si actually won the class this time. He was 4 tenths quicker than my fastest time placing me second. He has ditched his stock tires in the front and put some stickier rubber. I'm still on my run-flat Euphoria's though.
That being said, we'll see what happens when I get some legitimate tires

So if you're on the Pirelli's that means you're on the Summer Performance instead of the All-season. you'd be surprised the difference between the two on an autocross course. Mine lasted me all last year, plus the most brutal school you could think of at tire-destroying Wendover. They were great learning tires. Once you go to lightweight 16's with some Azenis or R's, you won't even recognize your car.
