RT-615 pricing out today...

Just got an email from Vulcan Tire... they'll have the new prices up on their website today at 3 PM EST.

The email said to expect higher prices - the example they gave was the 225/45R17, which is $40 more than the RT-215. That means the RT-615 in that size will run $146 versus the $106 for the RT-215...

The 205/50 15 is $24 more per tire.

I think Falken is making a mistake by raising the prices above the level of the Kumho MX (which is $83 per tire). Now I'll probably go with the MX instead, unless I can keep getting my hands on the old RT-215s somehow.

For those who are patient, other places will be offering the 615 (like EdgeRacing.com). Prices will reflect the supply and demand. Only plunk you money down if your current treads are down to the cords.

Note: ER has some 215s left for those who can't wait.

Vulcan always seems to be the cheapest, but I agree...

If the RT-615's are as good as Falken says they are then they should be worth the extra $... I tried the MX's and they're too squidgy feeling to me...

I'll post a review once I get them mounted and break them in...

Apparently they've already stopped. The 205/50/15s are already scarce; most of the usual sources are out.

First auto-x on them this Saturday... I had to finish off my RT-215's first. Hated to throw them away, since I was still winning my class...
