Yokohama Advan A052 (new) 200 treadwear
Anyone tried or seen at autocross the new A052 with treadwear 200 and 7/32" tread depth
Tirerack has tested it and seems like it could be a possible alternative to the RE71R and comes in possible MINI sizes.
Tread groove pattern seems minimal but tests show it's OK in dry or wet. Street driving seems better and more friendly than most Extreme Summer tires.
I would be concerned with tire wear if camber is not maximized for track or autocross, maybe -3 front negative camber, -2 rear camber. But with that alignment front inner treadwear for street use not expected to be good.
Let us know your experience or what happens at Nationals. No contingency.

Found similar feedback locally and online, the A052 sits between the RE71R and BFG Rival S1.5 in terms of 'feel' (Bridgestone sharper more precise, BFG lets you get a little sloppier, more slip angle, while still being fast) and which tire is fastest will boil down to tuning the setup and driver preference. I think Grassroots Motorsports has a tire test up but I haven't read it only heard the results second hand. As a plus one to Juice the Bridgestones seem to be the cheapest of the fast 200TW so I've been using those mostly (3 sets on the F56 iirc, on my 4th set on my FR-S).
Live Nats results, ProSolo is happening now, a few Yoks up in the trophies, and some Michelins, it was damp in the morning, audio broadcast works most of the time lol. (i.e. 5/7 Trophy places in STR are held by Yokohamas right now)

Not sure about the older Minis, but the F56 we had a little more than -3 on RE71R's up front and a little more than -2 in the back, imho we needed more camber in the front, started playing with the purple crack since then on that car, found some more camber, totally worth it. If I could put -4 on the car right now I would. I would try and keep street miles off the fast tires with that alignment but I typically drive my fast tires to and from events so they get about 2k miles on them and ~130 runs on concrete.

I think we all know by now that the a052s are the kings of 200tw.
I ran 215/40r17 on 17x8et45 a052s last season, and they were great. No spacers, no notable rubbing. They work great cold, don't seem to like alot of heat, but i think that's really just how much the pressure increases after a run.
Running the same size RT660 requires a 5mm spacer (probably like 7) in the front, if your struts don't have tire cutouts. The 660s don't have the cold grip, but the pressure barely changes between runs. 660s are about 40-60$less A TIRE however. On cold days, I can barely get any heat into my 660s on the rear, I'd run A052s in the rear only, if I could find them. - although i havent looked for awhile.
