Anyone out here have an Auto Transmission and uses it for AutoX? I have a Auto for a bunch of reasons (Wife, Kid, stupid busy hwy driving etc.) So, does anyone have any clues of how to get more out of the car durring the autox? I am starting in First, and shift quickly to Second, and leave it there. i use the sport button. I hold my foot on the brake and gas to bring up the revs before starting on the track. What if anything i should do? How much of a disadvantage if any does a auto have vs a manual.?

 

I race with the auto transmission in stx class. I feel that it does an ok job, the only downfall I have with it is the Mini always wants to go to the next gear when sometimes I want it to stay in the gear its in. Mine does have the paddle shifters so when I enter the corner if i'm able I always press it to downshift a gear.

I also like you said hold my foot on the brake to build revs for the start. I always let the car do the upshifting , but never let it do the downshifts.
