JCW Tuning kit was a port installed option(or dealer in your case), therefore is stock class legal. Your Mini is DS legal. It is also STX legal. I have the letter from Mini USA showing all of the port installed items for the R56 if you need it.
Thanks for the reply!!!
Given that my car has a base suspension (not even sport), I suppose it would be best to get a set of rims with the stickiest tires allowed in stock class and run as DS.

Would it be possible to send me a copy of that letter?

I would recommend the JCW suspension(also a port installed option listed on the letter). For 2012, you can also upgrade the rear swaybar as long as you have the stock front swaybar(if you have the JCW or sport suspension, you must have the appropriate/matching front swaybar). I'd recommend the 3-way adjustable H-Sport competition bar from Way Motorworks. Whoever wants the letter, PM me here on NAM with your email address or PM me on Facebook(see link on my sig) on my SCCA JCW Mini Cooper D-Stock build page and I will zip it right over.
just saw the "draft" 2012 rulebook and the 2012 JCW Coupe indeed got classed in DS.....along with the JCW Cooper S hardtops so see you all on course! :-)
...and the "substitution, addition, or removal of a single anti-foll bar and supporting hardware is permitted" is in there...let the orders begin
