M7 aerogel legal for SM class?

Does anyone know if M7 Aerogel heat shield is legal for SM class autocross?

see
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=110681

Could there be any problems running this in autocross?

Is it heavy?

I can't find any reason in the reg's that would preclude it's use. Why would you think it's not ok?

It sounds OK to me, I wonder (since the concept is straightforward) if there are any ready to buy heat shield flat material that can be bought and just cut to the same shape and inserted for similar benefit in that area above the heat shield for the header? Maybe hem the edges to prevent fraying.

The aerogel is not that cheap.

The Aero gel is light, and fits the opening nicely. Once installed, I no longer get a wave of heat in the face when I open the hood between runs. I also can't tell the difference in approach on the highway.
