Sorry Sara but they had only had V J Mirzayan as the driver, so I presumed as it was live and they have both your names on the finished results I presumed he was driving.

Congrats Sara on a wicked time, hopefully see one of you in the 10s nest session

I thought those times wouldn't count because the cars haven't got air con and they had PRO drivers driving them

Would be nice if MINI USA would get behind these car's instead of the Time Attack car. Money would be much better spent. But, then these are older version car's. Hope Randy gets the OK on his Challenge car one of these days.
Keep up the good work down there.

With SpeedSource building the $88,000.00 ready to race Mazda3's sold through Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development and ST legal, one does wonder why the Challenge car is not legal too....

Very very simple
Mazda pays big bucks to racing series
Mini pays nothing

With all the aero those come with, it would seem a good argument for the GP rear spoiler and such....

PS: Also know BMW most likely doesn't want to see the Mini kicking the Beemers butt in a head to head fight....cause then it might be MINI "The ultimate driving machine." LOL

Yes
It would be nice to see MINI USA sponsor racing like Mazda. I don't think it will ever happen.

Mini/BMW used to pay BIG bucks for all kinds of amateur motorsports in contingency. For a Solo2 win on the national stage it was something like $500. Since the economic downturn the pay has reduced to near nothing. They still pay for some stuff but it's minimal. Honda has recently produced a program much like mazda motorsports. Honda's program was great as I received something like $0.60 a mile in tow money just for going to the runoffs a couple years back with a honda + $500 for entry in the race. Toyota is very good about that too paying drivers tow money just for going to big races.

Just for the record . . .

I will be the first to say, I wish MINIUSA would hand me a check for $100k.

It isn't going to happen and I'm OK with that. Mini does have a good contingency program (better than most) and I appreciate it. They have given me help in the past where possible with some parts discounts and they help with tech issues.

Don't be too hard on them. In these 'interesting' times it is admirable that they have maintained their racing programs.

I probably have the most to gain or lose . . . I'm happy so you should be too.

Randy

Not saying I'm unhappy but it would be nice to see a stronger program from them. Hope things go better than last year when I was there with Jan.

Good Luck in the upcoming event.
