I'm beginning to think something bad happened. According to the live scoring timer they aren't on the track and the race is underway.

Scratch that now I see them. Need to view the timer in html to see them though.

they are on track but 10-15 seconds off the ST pace right now. Hopefully they will be more competive on the shorter tracks.

Still good to see MINI being represeted!

Wow!!! Where have I been, I just found this thread. THAT MINI LOOKS SWEEEEET!!!! Very nice and I'm glad someone is carring the Mini torch after it was just about dropped. I know Miller Motorsports Park is on your schedule and you can add one more track to your list with local helpers. I would love to help you guys out in any way I can.

Hey the guys have moved up 38 positions over all. If this was Nascar they'd be in the top 10

They're still running, and they're not last. This is good.

YEAH ! Nice finish on the first race! Lots of data gathered, I am sure, and lots of knowledge about the new car! Look out, VIR! and Lime Rock!

Who built that car, anyway?

Here is the deal.

That power loss from yesterday's last practice was actually something broken in the engine. They put in the engine from Randy's spec Mini (spare car)to make the race. Obviously it was down on power thus the slow lap times. However, they did finish without any other hiccups. It was a very tall order to show up at Daytona without having turned a wheel on the car and it was a very valiant effort. Fact that they finished is fantastic. I think they are pleasently surprised themselves to have finished. They'll get it right I am sure.
I am sure we'll hear the full story from Randy and Mark.

Good job on the finish. That track is always difficult. Totally a top speed track for a quick lap time as over 2/3 of the lap are on the oval. Also the air down there does weird things to engines making the tuning setup difficult.

Congrats guys. Had to be a very tough day after what I would think was a long night with an engine change.
Now that things are sorted out your next event will be much much better.
