I'm gonna be registering my MCS soon. Does anyone know roughly how much it costs to register in Denver proper? I'm guessing it's going to be around $300. (Ouch!)

Thanks Dave,

That doesn't surprise me. My $300 number was based on what it cost me to register my motorcycle. I just read that they tax on the weight of your vehicle. My bike weighs ~400lbs. MINI weighs ~2600lbs.

My MC (no S) was $344.01 in Golden. Keep the "happy tags" as long as you can !

Yea mine was $442 in Denver proper plus the cost of a decent looking personalize plate (I refuse to "wear" the alien green sky plates).

Mine was $500-something in Denver County. Yikes. The priciest plates I've ever gotten! These numbers seem to vary. The DMV must have been hungry the day I was in there. (ok ok I'm sure there's reason for it, but still crazy!)

I did get a two week extension because the dealer had not submitted the paperwork yet. $2 to put off paying $500 for another 2 weeks.

My MCS=$452.00+change. Jefferson Cty. Vehicle registration is based on "Taxable amount". Motor Vehicle Dept. calculated the Mini @ $19100.00. Save your registration, as the "tax" on your registration is deductable on your Fed 1040 if you itemize.

I actually prefer the green plates. The only way I'd pay any more is if they had an all black plate with white numbers (retro UK look) to match my MINI. That would be sweet!

OK, I just registered (finally). For the record, it cost $519.02. I try not to think of the mods I could have gotten for that money...
