If you are referring to the flame paint job that we saw at the Breakfast King to the answer is ...maybe . I liked his work and would love to use him but haven't gotten prices or set anything up. Why do you have any hot tips or deals for me?

Yes, the very subtle flame job

that if you are not looking for it, you might miss it. Remember, that was the silver and gold on BRG, with flames on the sides, too. I do not know the costs but I have his name and number if you want. How cool it was...only visible in certain lights...I do have pics somewhere.

I would not do flames, but perhaps some permanent Bonnet stripes in a fancy pattern...

Yes, but THEY don't know that...

The story starts with a guy I will call 'Bob'.....

For all they know, we could be talking about a motorcycle so far.....

There you go again...now they know you aren't talking about a motorcycle. How about you telling your side and I will fill in the blanks if necessary?

The story starts with your part...

"I used to see a guy named Harley..." so you fill in here.

and the story ends with my part, which is all I will tell here:

"and so I got a note from Emagineer. She said to me: "BTW, there is something I have been meaning to tell you. You know that guy, Harley, I introduced you to? Well, Harley is a Cop."

And that is the ending. You can fill in the details.

oookkkkkayyy

you two obviously have a story to tell.

I'm actually not partial to bonnet stripes . I had them on my car when I bought it but I took them off. I'm a flame type of person. Just on the sides...haven't really sat down and figured out the look yet but it's gonna be flames.

He has the story to tell.....but I will fill in the blanks.

I was reading a 5280 newsletter and JPS made mention of the fact that few "cops" were seen on the last drive...weren't they lucky. Decided he should know that one was on the drive with them. There were only a few infractions....illegal u-turns with the whole group following, JPS parking in a no parking zone on the street (for what seemed like an hour while we all waited) to tag an unknown MINI.....and some other minor/funny issues. None really a big deal and the fellow cop wasn't on duty.

JPS wrote me that it would have been nice to have known who the guy was. More the case of no one asking what he did and we were out for a fun day. But, guess one never knows who may be along for the ride and never underestimate those around us....each of us may have a story to tell ......or not.

My neighbor is a Sheriff's Deputy in

Arapahoe Cty. I have been dying to have the MINI group over to the house one day...just so I could pay him to stand in the street and write a bunch of FAKE tickets for all of them...we would stand inside and watch, I would milk it (read mic it) just for kicks. Sort of a big dude, not the kind to mess with. But I would love just to see the reactions...

Just for fun, of course...

JPS

PS: Cops and Postal Inspectors have the GREATEST stories to tell....

Childrens Hospital MINI run

Is anybody from the Springs going to attend? If yes, do you want to meet here and drive up?

Let me know and we can set a meeting place.
Thanks,
Brad

Hey Springs!

Finally moved and, with the holidays behind us, looking forward to another MINI year ahead. Short as my settling in is...Woodland Park is wonderful to be so close to the mountains and options beyond. Even the short treck to the Springs down 24 makes me love being here. MPG is up too and certainly doesn't hurt my feelings.

Have braved the snowy roads and MINI never gives up. Also found two other owners in WP, one is the local phone installer and another yet to be known with a silver S.

Keep us all posted if Any Spring's owners are considering getting together when the weather allows. Would be great too if we could just meet for dinner/lunch some day. Maybe this would be the ticket to a start.

Best to all for the coming year.

Sandy

Sandy, I know one of the two

WP MINI owners. I will put you in touch.

Go ahead and pick a date for lunch, hopefully a Sunday. Pick an unusual spot that we have to MOTOR to and I will call for a function. We will have a new signup procedure for events right here in NAM and we can use that for the first event, if not the January meeting. We can also plan to show the pics and videos from last year, too, so this is a good idea.

You decide where and when, we will help you get the work out.

Thanks,

JPS

I should be able to do this. I have no ride ideas as of yet.
My breakfast suggestion is The Egg and I. Great breakfast...the best eggs and waffles.

I would prefer something short but sweet. A run through Garden of the Gods might be a good place to start. Then we could head south to Canon City to see SKYLINE DRIVE. Its definitely worth seeing if you haven't or even if you have.

Any ideas anyone?

The Egg and I

it is. Here is the Agenda:

- Saturday, February 19th, 8:00 AM
- Denver group leave Park Meadows 7:00 AM
- Meet at The Egg and I, 7816 N Academy Blvd, (719)268-0700
- Leave for Garden of the Gods, 9:00 AM
- Leave for Skyline Drive (Canon City) 10:00 AM
- Return from Canon City 1:00 (about an hour down, right?)

Remember....for those of you who don't know, the HEADER picture at the top of this page (with the yellow, red and blue MINIs) was taken on Skyline Drive...1 lane, very scenic, fun to do, not very long)

For those who prefer a shorter drive, Egg then Garden might be nice. Still in it for the pictures.

Sean, I will send you the ride sheet if you will write it up. Send it back and I an make copies.

Thanks,

JPS

Yep, I'm looking forward to this. I hope we have a good turnout. This may be a good springboard to starting more drives for Springs MINI owners. Not that it isn't a blast to come up for the Denver 5280 stuff.
