Recommendation for OEM roof rack installer?

I'm getting the OEM roof rack installed.

Since there will be roof drilling (ouch!), I want to make sure it's done perfectly.

Ralph Schomp has done about 20 OEM roof rack installs. They charge about $235 for the labor. I know the lowest price on the parts can probably be had through Classic.

I don't mind paying some more to go through a Mini dealer, just for that added reassurance, especially if something goes wrong. Egads, a leak!

Questions:

-> Can anyone recommend a good installer for it?

-> Anyone had their OEM roof rack installed at Ralph Schomp or another Mini dealer in the Mountain states?

-> Anyone have any recommendations for getting a great installation job at a reasonable price?

Many thanks for any roofing advice,
Dan

When I had mine installed in Nashville, I was also concerned about the potential for leaks. I considered paying the dealer the high labor cost as a form of "hole insurance" and am not worrying about leaks since the dealer did the labor.

I did ask to speak to the installer and he offered to use extra sealant around the bolt holes when I told him my concerns and that I intended to keep the rack on all the time except for race days. Sure it does not look very pretty with visible gobs of sealant showing, but it is much less likely to leak this way. However, the oval shaped plastic covers that probably would blow off on the highway anyway do not fit very well with the extra sealant around the bolts.
