(Hail) Dent Repair

Poor Mr. MINI got beat up by yesterday's hail. None of the dings are very large but there are a couple dozen of them, all on the roof and bonnet. I figured I'd get an estimate or two to see if I should go the insurance route or not. Anyone have this kind of repair done to their MINI before? If so, where did you have it done? Cost? Etc, etc.

Thanks!

Where are you located? I used a group near Quebec and 470 that did a great job on mine. There were 3 dents, one on the rear fender, and two on the door from idiots parking in the mountains. Cost was 60. Past experience with hail damage on my Z3 2 years ago was 1200 though.

do you have a sunroof? that makes a huge difference in the cost of PDR. The sunroof makes it much more difficult to get to.

From some estimates done recently, it can be costly for the roof, but for the rest of the car, not so bad at all.

I live/work right near downtown. My house wasn't touched, at least as far as I could tell by the landscapping, but all the cars in my works' parking lot got beat up pretty bad. I don't have a sun roof so I guess that's good. I went ahead a bit the bullet and just called the insurance company. <sigh> One of joys of dealing with the weather in Colorado.

Thanks for the kind words BMINI.

Mr. MINI has been in the shop for about a week now, hopefully he'll be home sometime next week. Interestingly, I'm getting a whole new bonnet and possibly a new roof; I guess it's less expensive to just replace them rather than take out all the dings. My insurance company has actually been real easy to work with, although it'll be interesting to see what happens with my rates after we're all done.

Dent Wizard

Try them......they work out of dealerships and also at their few retail locations, which you can find at their website.......which I think is www.dentwizard.com - easy to find on google.
Excellent results ! They are the best ! and, not expensive - any local dealer should be able to arrange the fix for you !
