Solo Trials results
Brad and I participated in our first Solo Trials and Second Creek yesterday. Overall it was a lot of fun. In the morning we were able to go out for 30 minutes to run "parade laps" - no passing and a 50 mph speed limit. Later on in the morning we were sent out for two consecutive flying laps to establish our qualifying times. Then in the afternoon the fun really started: cars were sent out in spaced groups of three to run five flying laps for times.
This was my first track experience with the newly installed Alta swaybar. I think it definately helped me in the tight hairpin turn. Before I had the sway bar I was getting wheel spin coming out of this corner, now it hooks up pretty well. I did get some initial oversteer until my tires got some heat in them.
FTD was a 69 Mustang that looked to be fully race prepared (1:14:2), next was a very fast Porsche 911 (1:16:4).
I managed to get first place in STX (1:25:2), Brad ran some very respectable times in the high horsepower Open Street Prepared class (1:24.5) where every one else seemed to be on race rubber.
