Goodbye Race Fans

I’m sitting here reading all the useless banter being thrown around by a few anonymous individuals and it has made me decide to eliminate all the threads under the heading of Nuzzo Motorsports.

Mark Ferguson was very generous in allowing me to share my experiences here with the idea that the NAM community might be interested in what we were doing. I have always tried to be as forthright as possible with everyone sharing the highs and lows trying to let you have a real look into what it was like to run a professional race team.

But it is a business and in being so, it was just not possible to expose every minute detail to the public eye. There was a great deal of time and money invested into a program that achieved many successes.

So I can’t sit back and let some loud mouth wannabe who has no credentials sound off and berate what I have achieved. I have always signed my name, my address, phone number and website to everything I have posted and simply will not get into a flame war with a nobody. Many of you that wanted information technical or otherwise knew how to reach me and if I could help I always did.

My accomplishments are all a matter of public record and a simple search of my name or my companies will reveal them in detail.

So in closing I will say to all the terrific people I have met through the MINI community thanks for the support over the past four years; it was a real pleasure having you watch my six.

See you at the races
Tony Nuzzo

I'm with you. Don't forget that.

Tony, I'm still a fan. You remember that some of us still think you are a great person and Driver even if you don't drive a MINI. When did a Car make a Person?
BTW I hope you are doing better after the race this last weekend.

Good luck Tony !

Although, it would have been nice to hear about your racing career change from you vs having to try and figure it out on our own and having to make guesses as to why.

Did you have to delete every thread in this forum? Not all of them even had to do with you. Most of us supported you and many still do. But now all of our wishes and support of Randy and Mark at RSR Motorsports have been wiped out? Not cool.

I don't even know what this is about... but, people who spew their opinions without having the guts to take credit, are everywhere. And it's really easy with this venue. Too bad they turned you off.

I guess you'll have to prove them wrong the old fashioned way, kick butt on the track!

Naaa, they are still on this forum. Look under the road racing section.
This was just the Nuzzo section. Now that all post have been wiped out Nuzzo can say what he wants without any evidence to show otherwise. I'm not sure how we can start wiping out threads here. It's becomes the ability to rewrite history. Maybe I should start editing and censoring the entire road racing section?
How pathetic....

.... my point exactly. Not your fault, but you state that you don't even know what this is about, yet you seem to have a very strong opinion on it. Think about it, what exactly are you commenting on?

Good luck Tony! I certainly appreciate the amazing effort you have taken to bring the MINI to professional racing, and wish you the best in the future. We only had one phone conversation some time ago, and I was impressed with your willingness to share knowledge!

If you ever need a hand at the track, or a place to hang in Colorado, feel free to call me.

PS - I completely understand and respect your decision to pull the posts, the BS around here that only a few people spew can ruin the entire atmosphere of what, for the most part, are the best car guys and girls in the country!

I wish Tony Nuzzo all the best, but am very disappointed that he deleted the threads. They were part of MINI racing history.

Indeed... And seems to contrast his statement of "contributing" to the mini community.

Thanks for your input in the MINI community. More importantly get healthy and back to your passion. The MINI was just a tool that we appreciated you performing in. GOOD LUCK down the road Tony!!!

The future of forums and NAM as representative to the great MINI community has become sarcastic. It appears some would like to vent and be the critic for all issues that do not follow their agenda...for that I am concerned. The community should not have to suffer for that..but by losing valid and helpful vendors and supporters is not good.

A couple changes:
  • All of the threads in the Nuzzo forum have now been moved to the Road Racing Discussion Forum and the Nuzzo forum has been closed. since there will be no further MINI race related updates. If that changes at some point in the future with Tony deciding to get an R56 and compete that, we'd be happy to support that activity here on NAM.
  • All of the threads that had been "deleted" in the Nuzzo forum are now viewable and searchable once again, here in the Road Racing Discussion forum. However, they will be locked. Effectively this is preserving the history of MINIs being raced in the Grand Am Cup.
I'd like to personally wish Tony the best with his future racing, and again, if at some point he comes back to the MINI brand, we'd be interested in having him here on NAM posting about his experiences with the car.

Dave

Thanks for the memories Tony, and best of luck! I'll still stop by to say Hi at MidOhio even though you're a Rabbit pilot

I guess my point is:
1- Tony shouldn't take whatever the offender said personally (watch how elected officials brush off naysayers).
2- Whoever posted the offensive comments (you know who you are ) should become less troll-like.

Yes, I'm naturally opininated (I really try to hold back on NAM, but not on You Tube). And if I don't know, I'm not skeered to admit it.

I'm not sure if this is the proper thread to request it, but I would also definitely support and encourage this request!

It is actually troll and yeah - just trying to help

I too would like to see a forum for pro-racing efforts, if the racers are interested in sharing. Racing is a very private sport by nature, so I don;t blame anyone if they want to keep their secrets!

Randy

PS - Mark and Randy, it was a pleasure racing with you at Laguna Seca in '05 - if you ever need any help let me know. randy@webbmotorsports.com
