That one was bolted in. You have to cut away some carpet for the main hoop base plates, on the floor behind the front seats. Worse is that this bar also needs to have holes cut into the rear side pannels. Don't think you want to do this....

Just remove them, reinstall when the cage goes back out, tint side windows ...LOL

What about SSC in SCCA ? The current National Champion is a MINI......and they are kicking butt this year so far. Correct me if I am wrong, but what's the matter with that classing?
Or, is this an issue of having a dual purpose car - both street and track?
Personally, I think if you want to race, then you really need to dedicate a car just to that purpose - get a trailer and a proper tow vehicle - go the whole 9 yards, or not at all. Hard to have a winning race car and also drive the same car to work daily. Hey - get 2, they're small!
