2007 Touring class championship winner, Alain Lauzière announced that his Octane Motorsport team will commence their 2008 season during the May 31-June 1st Shannonville weekend. “We are looking forward to bringing the MINI Cooper S back to the Castrol series” announced Lauzière. “Due to personal and business commitments, the team will compete in a limited 2008 schedule”, confirmed driver and team-owner Lauzière. “We will be back for a few races starting with Shannonville. With the current growth of the Castrol series and specifically in the Touring class, we expect that the increased competition will provide some great racing action for the fans.”

Crew-chief Louis-Philippe Allard confirmed that the team was ready: “We have been rebuilding the car, taking into consideration the rule changes that were imposed on competitors for the 2008 season. While these changes are particularly penalizing for our car, we hope to be in a position to challenge for a podium finish at Shannonville”, mentioned Allard.
