Onasled/M7 race car stuff...NEW

Greg - You should also think about racing it in the NASA Western Endurance Racing Championship if you have time/money (and once the car gets sorted). It is a series of 3 hour endurance races, capped by the 25 Hours at Thunderhill. It would be fun to see you out here!
For everyone's benefit - here's the 2007 DM Champion:

I didn't realize that the Midwest region had these enduros as well. Greg - these are a lot of fun - you should check them out! I think your car may be classed in ES, though, depending on the engine work you do. That's a pretty competitive class! You'll also need a light bar (I see your hood removed the lights).
Strom Racing has enjoyed the enduros on the west coast - we've participated in and won several overall in both E0 and E1 classes. My brother also ran our car in conjunction with Bullet Performance at the 25 Hours at Thunderhill, and took a class win in E0, and placed 7th overall.

NASA Enduros are ADDED to select events on Saturday night to give race licensed drivers and crew an opportunity to work as a race team with pit strategy and fuel stops. This takes a bit of planning but can actually be done without a crew. Enduros also allow HPDE drivers a way to get involved in the race scene. Often race drivers are looking for help to perform a pit stops and recruit/ask/beg HPDE drivers for a hand. Enduros are run AFTER the normal NASA schedule on Saturday night and will be 2 or three hours in length for 2008.

Got a 12 gal fuel cell and no lights (yet), so it might be a little while till I'm ready for a two or three hour enduro, BUT I will at some point.
Remember guys, I'm still a beginner here... Are the pit stops open, or is there a manditory amount of time spent in the pits?
Thanks for all the input though as far as the race series go. Great stuff.

The rules for pit stops changed for 2008 (I think?). There is one required pit stop for races less than 6 hours, and I believe that the only requirement is that at least 5 gallons of fuel are put in the car during the stop. For races longer than 6 hours, there is no requirement. I don't quite understand the thought process on that one, but those are the rules.

Ohhh, Alain......;)
OK, I'm happy. I finally weighed the car today with about 4 gal of fuel.
This means to me that by next season I may be able to get this car under 2K.
I'm thinking Chardonnay these days Alain. But beer will do. Nothing to dark or bitter. Haaa...

Thanks Steve,
Testing? As soon as I can, but here is the problem, .. I live in the northeast!
I'm not crazy about traveling 13 + hours to find out that the car don't run. I also want my guys close in case I have major issues.
I'm just keeping my eyes open for the first closest day. Once the weather gets better here I can at least do some test street driving.

I don't post on NAM anymore about this car. Anyone who was really interested and following the build knows where to find it.

Testing on April 11, 12, 14, 18 at NHIS. Unfortunately our season starts way late here in New England. I'm hoping that these dates are not canceled due to how the track looked less then two weeks ago.. 3 feet deep at spots, no less then 12 " deep anywhere.

Car is a rocket and handles like a Kart....
Too loud and am getting black flagged at 107 db. I couldn't be happier with todays results. Only a few issues. Endded up blowing the belt. Might have pulley damage due to that. Too wet a nd tired to deal with it.
Paul will hopefully add to this.

I better stay away from your track I'm at 118 db on the street.
That's with 2 mufflers and a resonator, well at least the cans are there.
Fortunately our local tracks are out in the middle of nowhere and they don't monitor sound levels.
