issues after replacing turbo

I recently replaced the turbo on my 2015 paceman s all4 with a Stigan 847-1550. Installation went well, and I closely followed the pre oiling procedure. Now, under light acceleration the turbo begins to build boost (I have a gauge to monitor) then the car goes from bogging down to surging 2-3 times before accelerating as normal. No codes, or strange noises, smells, etc.

Any ideas on what could cause this? Do I need a tune, catless downpipe, could it be a boost leak, etc?

2015 Paceman S All4 with gplus intercooler, k&N typhoon intake, and borla catback exhaust.

thanks

Cheap Chinese turbo?

Bad wastegate actuator? Faulty diverter valve? Sounds like the control between off and on boost isn't quite happening correctly. Could be coincidence, or could be related to quality of the turbo parts.

We have seen and heard of those other brands sticking on the wastegate at the pivot point. Bad machining. It will throw a code eventually under full pulls.

issue was a leaking pcv/valve cover. replacing it with red aluminum one from ECStuning fixed it.
