Bad Turbo?

So I read 11-12 turbo’s have problems. Was 13 fixed? Or when/how/why do these turbos go bad ? Mileage? How can one find out how long they extended warranty on these parts?

Not sure where you’re getting your information, or what other details you’re leaving out, but my early 2012 Cooper S N18 turbo is raging strong at 130k miles.

That’s good to hear. I thought I was reading about timing chain, turbo and something in the footwell or something. I currently also own a 19 CM, gave it to my daughter but I love it.

With proper maintenance, both N14 and N18 engines can be quite reliable. They aren't bullet proof, but can serve you quite well.
