Gforce

Hi folks. I was after a bit of advice from all the people
That have fitted uprated rear sway bars. I love my paceman, but one thing I don't like is that when you corner fairly sharply, you get pushed up against the door, and you have to hold on tight to the steering wheel to stop yourself being thrown across the car from the gforce. When you turn in, and if you have a series of bends the car wiggles from side to side. Does the uprated sway bar stop this phenomena or cut it down to acceptable levels. Also, I haven't driven an ordinary lower mini. Do they give the same gforce as the Countryman or Paceman. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Nick.

It will make it more flat in the rear, to change the rocking of the CM and Paceman , you would have to change the wheels with a lower profile tire, larger wheel. Change the suspension / coilovers or lowering springs. Then change out the bushing to powerflex and that will really tighten things up so it does not rock so much. Its will keep it more flat and not throw you as much, but it will not keep you from not sliding around in the seat.

If all else is equal the other MINIs can corner at higher gforces. Sticky tires, sport suspensions, JCW suspensions, and aftermarket parts can all increase gforce. A CG lock or shoulder harness seat belts will keep you in your seat at an autocross while you sort out your suspension in a safe environment.
