Rear Seats

Hello,
Those that have owned the paceman for awhile, does the "non-flat" folding rear seats get better after time? or maybe putting something heavy or strapping them down to get softer? Still deciding between the PM and CM…the folded rear seats in the PM stinks, but if i put some weight on them, they do go down more...

I've owned mine since launch and because folding them down is useless they remain as they were on day one. I doubt weighting them down will help. I still for the life of me can't figure out why they went that route.

At first I thought it was kind of odd not folding flat, but after 4,000 miles of road trips with the wife it’s no big deal. The Paceman has so much more room than my R56 we rarely need to fold the seats down, when they are down the upward angle of the seats keeps your stuff from flying forward between or slamming the back of the front seats if you need to get on the break hard.

I never use the rear seats, so I removed the rear headrests and folded the seats, which are at about 20 degrees from flat. That's just fine for me. They were designed with side bolsters like the front seats which make seating more comfortable than bench seats but prevent flat folding. I wish there was a rear seat delete option however.

I've found that if you figure out how to lower the rear headrests it helps them go flatter, and they seem to be flat enough for most things I've needed to use. But as with others mostly the trunk holds enough for me.

Mine seem to be folded down more than up, as every couple of weeks I need to load up the back with keyboard and sound gear. So far they don't fold any flatter than when it was new. Makes no sense, because the Countryman's fold perfectly flat. Really my biggest complain about the car.
