Tail light rings

Has anyone removed theirs yet? I've done plenty of R56-R58 and I'd assume its a similar process but thought I'd check here first.

Eager to find out as well! I did remove the fronts (although they were much harder to remove than any of my MINIs before!). Kept looking at those big eyes at the back, but still not sure if I should just stick the butter knife and get them off!? Plastidip in hand!

Finally getting back to this. I never did remove them though I'd almost bet my life they come off like the Gen2 MINIs do. Trouble is you can't see where all the clips are by prying and peaking in the gaps since the body gets in the way.

I ended up just masking and painting but if really prefer to do it by removing them. Oh well.

Finally I removed the rings in the back before I made it black.

You must clip out a black plastic and than you can remove these (many) clips.
I didn't broke any clip. It's a better quality than it looks.

I'm not quite understanding what you mean. Are you talking about black plastic clips on the entire headlight or just the tail light ring?

Does the whole light have to be removed first or can you just pop off the actual ring?

Sorry for my confusion.

You must remove the complete tail light from the car.
It's very easy with only two screws.

Than you must clip out a black plastic wall at the side of the tail light.
After that you can clip out the ring.
