They are introducing the JCW Paceman. But I wonder about the numbers.

We bought our CM because we needed four doors.

Assuming the paceman drives more or less like a CM, if we could make do with only two doors we would elect to go back to our previous S hardtop as it is a significantly better handling and more fun car to drive given the lighter weight

Wow that's the nicest looking MINI I've ever seen...I think I'd speck it with the Red on Black.

I think the Paceman is the best looking MINI and better than the Countryman. I'm gonna miss the big heavy loud MINI doors with my JCW Countryman. I would definitely prefer TWO doors as my daughter is 4 now and has no issue getting in her carseat in the back by herself. But I still want the bench seat so I COULD fit 5...my wife, daughter, son and girlfriend if necessary.

So it was the lack of bench seat and I would want the JCW Paceman which may not be out until next year. Those two things. Because I already waited a year for the Countryman JCW and I'm all out of wait already.

Funny. I had a Countryman S as a loaner twice for a week. It was more fun driving than my heavily modded 03 S hardtop and my current stock S Clubman. In fact there was very little comparison due to the All Wheel Drive.

I expect my soon to be finished JCW Countryman to blow the doors off any front wheel drive MINI in the fun factor. In legal street driving there's nothing I can't do with a Countryman that I did with a regular MINI. But I can accelerate out of turns in an ALL4 Countryman AT LEAST TWICE as fast as a FWD S. And the COuntryman initially comes off the line much quicker too.

When we get our cars Greatgro, come to New England for a little run. I'd like to see how well the Countryman comes out of a turn.

I got a two door Wrangler to celebrate empty nesting. For some reason I ended up having to ride in the back pretty often. All the guys in the family are 6'+ and I'm 5' (and shrinking). I hated, hated, hated climbing in the back.

So, now I insist on a 4 door. So, it is a countryman for me. I wouldn't get a paceman for that reason. The paceman is growing on me, although my husband loved it instantly. Said he'd consider it if it had a diesel.

Wife has a 4-door Countryman for when we need to take people or the puppies. I love my MCS, but I could really use a little more room, and AWD around here would be a blessing in the winters. I am seriously gonna check them out once they show up at the dealers. My RM just sent me this link yesterday, so it's getting more 'official'. Just hope the pricing isn't too outrageous.

No... simple fact is I need the four doors. Also I am not a fan of how the back end looks.

I'm ok with the two doors as my daughter is 4 and can get in and out of her car seat fine in the back now. But I like the versatility of the bench seat. And I couldn't wait another 6-12+ months for the Paceman JCW model. But I do like the Paceman styling better.

Yeah, I have a six and a one-year-old. My wife usually sits in the back with them, so the four doors and bench seat is more convenient. I take the child and baby seats in and out all the time so I can't have two doors. With that said, I love that Paceman!

Yeah, but kids grow and their gear grows with them. Backpacks, sports gear, toys, snacks, etc. I hated having a two door while my son was young. He quickly grew to six feet. Four doors were definitely necessary!!!

Now it's the dogs or guests and their gear.

Oh, and elderly parents. 4 doors. Definitely. I'm too old and crunchy to be getting in the back of a two door.

Headed to the Detroit auto show on Saturday to check it out. Surprised it's not on the configurator on miniusa yet.

If the Paceman has the ability to attach a roof box then I will be trading my 2011 CM S for a Paceman.

Configurator is live on MINI Canada's site if you wanted to check it out.

Seriously considering trading my Roadster in for a Paceman S ALL4.

I just assumed that most of us countryman owners got the CM for the simple reason that it had 4 doors. That is why I got it , this was the first MINI that made sense as a true family vehicle. I think the better question is would any clubman, or traditional cooper owners go for the paceman instead. I think if I was in that group I would give it a long hard look and might be swayed. As for the paceman taking the place of my countryman, no way, kinda defeats the purpose.

I have had my information come from the dealership as it pertains to the line of cars MINI produces. They told me that they will be remodeling the Clubman with two side doors now. After that we have the Paceman for whatever group of people like it. Also the Clubvan for companies and other sorts(for a limited time). I also found out that the Coupes will be sold for about another year and a half, as they will remove it from their line. Countryman's are staying. Now on to the R56, they will get remodeled obviously as some have heard in 2014 or 2015 and call it the F56. Looks like I will have to have a hard look at the 13' Coupe JCW before they disappear from the MINI line.

But in reality I would own the Paceman if I had a family with one child because of the all wheel drive. Or if I had more children I would buy the Countryman. I love that MINI expanded for those with families. Not everyone is single or married with no kids, I think they did a fantastic job reaching those with other needs.

Mini of Marin had a Paceman on their lot yesterday. A salesperson contacted my wife via e-mail to let her know it was there. She had told them she was interested in it. So she stopped by and checked it out.

It was Chili Red with the jcw 19" wheels and the "bull horn" stripes on the hood. She said it reminded her of a miniature version of the Range Rover Evoque. She said it was very nice and really likes some of the Paceman specific styling.

It was only there for the day as it is on some cross country promotional tour. MoM stated they were getting in a fully loaded All4 soon and they had 4 slots for ordering. They might have some photos of it in their showroom.
