Paceman Snapped Hood Release Cable!
Paceman Snapped Hood Release Cable!
Hello fellow Mini Owners!
I was working on replacing my Paceman's hood latch cables as they are pretty stiff and figured they were needed. I removed the cable from the cab to the hood release and went to grab parts.
Due to the cold and wind outside, the hood shut it's self! Latching the passenger side but staying unlatched on the driver side due to my tools being there...
Anyway, I'm currently now with a cable in my hand and no way to open the hood! I searched the forums and found that R56 owners have gone though the wheel well but wasn't sure if that worked for R60/61 owners as well. Any advice would be awesome as I don't want to leave my hood damaged and I'd like to finish the job!

Anyway, I found a video showing the procedure on an R56 and did indeed work. So anyone having issues with an R60/R61, follow the same procedure!
