Question 2015 R60 stock radio, barely low end frequencies

Hey all.
My GF has a 2013 R60. I have a 2016 R60. My radio sounds okay but her car has a really noticeable amount of better fidelity.
Both vehicles have the non-HK/ stock radio in them. When I listen to either the radio, CD, or Aux-in with Spotify, her stereo has noticeably more bass/ lower end than my radio. Yes, all of my Bass and Treble adjustments are up to 10, the fader is on center as is the balance-setting. It seems as if my Level 10 sound settings are her Level 4 settings.

I recently removed my passenger side seat to access one of the in-floor subs hoping it was something simple like the factory forgot to connect the sub. Nope. The sound is there in that sub but seems like a really low-volume level; acting like a mid-range speaker.

The 2013 R60 does not have an amp located behind the rear driver-side access panel. Just checked it in case they did something screwy like gave her the HK system but never put in the speakers...?

Does anyone know if MINI made a running change to the stock head units near the end of their production years on the R60 and put in a low-grade stereo?

Thanks in advance for any help you can extend to me.
